"All of the bands on Volume 1 were recorded live at Ruthie's Inn during the '85 Eastern Front, with the exception of Laaz Rockit and Raw Power (they were recorded live, outdoor at the '83 Eastern Front). All band's recorded on Volume 2 were not recorded live, nor at Ruthie's Inn, but are also a major portion of the primary undercurrent of spirit and vitality that is "The Ruthless Inn." Although some major or established artists perform at the club, its primary function, as far as I'm concerned, is an ongoing forum for the new, smaller, but yet dynamic voices of the "hardcore" heavy metal underground, which is definitely keeping the (hard) rock and roll scene honest.
