Lawrence Taylor Was Charged With Rape
Football Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor was indicted today on rape charges and for endangering the welfare of a child, stemming from his sex with a 16 year-old girl in May. Read more on Lawrence Taylor’s charges below.
Lawrence Taylor’s indictment includes one count of rape in the third degree, one count of criminal sexual acts in the third degree, two counts of sexual abuse in the third degree, one count of endangering the welfare of a child, and one count of patronizing a prostitute in the third degree.
Taylor reportedly paid the 16 year-old girl $300 in exchange for performing sexual acts. If Taylor is convicted, he faces up to four years in jail.
Taylor, 51, was arrested in a New York Holiday Inn room on May 6, hours after the rape.
Lawrence was released on $75,000 bail.
Taylor’s attorney, Arthur Aidala, said Lawrence “is denying and preparing to fight each and every one of those charges.”
The alleged victim is a runaway from the Bronx borough, who had been brought by a pimp.
The girl texted her uncle after she returned to New York City the following day, who then contacted authorities
