On this date in 1977, The Boomtown Rats released their second single, "Mary Of The 4th Form". It was backed by "Do The Rat". A different mix of the A side appeared on their self-titled debut album. The B side was a non-LP track. The single version of the A side was added as a bonus track to their debut album when it was re-released on CD. The single reached the #15 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The Dublin, Ireland punk/new wave band disbanded in 1986 after six albums.
