6 FEET DOWN is a French psychobilly band. This trio was formed in early 2003 by Gérald (guitar/lead vocals), Crazy Dave (slapbass/backing vocals) and Beber (drums). The 6 Feet Down are playing a melodic but explosive psychobilly, varied with fuckin' energy on stage. During the last 4 years, many songs were written to find their own style and they performed in about 50 concerts in France, Spain, Sweden and Belgium, with some of the big bands of the moment. A demo of 7 tracks was recorded in june 2006 to promote their music. Don't hesitate to listen to their compositions and discover the 6 Feet Down style.

The Nightshift is a Swedish Horrorpunk-n-roll band that has been around for a few years but hasn't made a lot of headway in the U.S. until recently - or well they haven't become a household name in my neck of the woods just yet. All of this has started to change since the band signed with Dr. Cyclops Records, a highly regarded Horrorpunk Record Label.

The Nightshift's first release for Dr. C. is entitled Los Muertos and it has been turning heads left and right amongst horror fans and music journalists alike. It saddens me deeply to be one of the first to say I don't share everyone's sentiments about the album. While the album is thirteen tracks in length, I find it hard to follow along with any of the songs. Just about every track comes off feeling like it's a LOUD AS HELL mad dash to the finish line; none of the songs seem to flow into each other. Normally, this doesn't bother me but the vocals aren't very clear in the mix and the melodies that are present feel severely forced. There's no breathing room in the album for anything – think raw and gnarly versions of early Ramones and Motorhead releases that have made it onto the market in the last few years. Does any of this make the album a complete loss? Not necessarily, it's all in the eye of the beholder. It's just not my cup of tea and I expected much more.

Nevertheless, all of you Horror Rockers who love it fast, dirty and reckless may very well find the missing link in The Nightshift's Los Muertos. Horrorpunk can be a hit or a miss more often than not, so the only way to really find out is to check the band out for yourself. You can pick the disc up at these fine retailers www.myspace.com/xdrcyclopsrecordsx , Rhapsody, Itunes and Emusic. Or you can check the band quickly via their myspace page.

Eva Mendes 'loves' sex symbol status

Eva Mendes has remarked that she enjoys her status as a sex symbol.

The star told the Spanish edition of Vogue that she enjoys being considered a siren, so long as it does not get in the way of her movie work.

"I love it ... But it's not important to me to always be thought of as sexy. I like it when it doesn't limit my career. It's a part of my life, but on a secondary plane," she said.

She added that she attempts to keep her body in good condition by keeping an eye on what she eats.

"I try not to go crazy, but yes, I pay attention to what I eat ... I try to stay away from pasta, bread, cakes, sweets, cookies and ice cream," Mendes said.

Last month, the star bemoaned the number of parts available for actresses in Hollywood.

"There is a lack of roles out there for females," she told the Evening Standard.

Aaron Fuller
, lead singer of the MISFITS-inspired punk band PLAN 9, died early Tuesday morning (September 30) after crashing his motorcycle on a connector ramp between westbound Interstate Highway 580 and eastbound state Highway 24 in Oakland, California, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The solo-vehicle crash was reported on the ramp at about 2:05 a.m., according to InsideBayArea.com.

Fuller, 35, lost control of his vehicle on a right curve in the roadway and struck a concrete barrier wall, the CHP said. The singer was ejected from the motorcycle and struck a concrete pillar, causing fatal head trauma.

Aaron fell below the transition road and landed in a grassy area between the freeway and a California Department of Transportation yard.

CHP officers arrived on scene and closed down the ramp for a little more than an hour, according to CHP Officer Aaron Quistad, who said the ramp was reopened at about 3:15 a.m.

As one of the original members of PLAN 9, Fuller was known for his incredible stage presence and vocal range.

Fuller's family has stated that they "want PLAN 9 to continue because that is what Aaron would want."

The band has not yet commented.

PLAN 9's sophomore album, "Manmade Monster", was recently released through Nickel and Dime Records. The CD includes 13 original songs that capture the raw energy and spirit of the Glenn Danzig-era MISFITS, but with a fresh songwriting perspective and ass-kicking high identity.

PLAN 9 originally formed in San Francisco circa 1997 as a one-shot, one-time MISFITS tribute band. The show sold out in under an hour and was attended by none other than Kirk Hammett and James Hetfield of METALLICA, and Jim Martin of FAITH NO MORE. The crowd was mystified by the extreme likeness that PLAN 9 bore to the actual MISFITS, both musically and visually. Led by Scary Only of the infamous psychobilly band THE HELLBILLYS, PLAN 9 began to carve out a vast following with their aggressive, powerful and theatrical live shows.

Years later, PLAN 9 became one of California's most popular bands playing for the likes of Glenn Danzig and Jerry Only (Jerry appears on their debut release as well). They have mutated from a "tribute band" to a legitimate death-rock band, writing and producing their own material.

Their debut release, "8 Hits From Hell" (2004), led critics and fans alike to hail PLAN 9 as the only true successors of the original MISFITS sound.
